Never base your choice of product on what is the cheapest available or one that will give you the highest mark-up. These directories already come with a list of the products being sold, a company profile, contact information, and other pertinent information. Draw up a list based on recommendations from people you know that have already had some success selling Chinese goods. Aboveboard Chinese suppliers will give you references that checks out fine, samples of their products to be shipped to you, and a good customer support system. You also want to work with a company that can offer business licensing information as well as manufacturing information.

It would be ideal if you can make a trip to China to check out the factories where your product will be manufactured. This way you can also get a feel of the type of business you will be forming a partnership with, as well as their business practices, manufacturing processes, and their experience in handling orders from overseas.
