Brisbane is the capital of Queensland which is a highly populated, urban state that is famously known as the “sunshine state”. The city spans an area of almost 6000km2 and is a busy metropolitan area. The city like most of Queensland has a rocky, mountainous, sloping terrain which results from the state being situated at the foot of the great divider range. According to the Koppen Climate Classification, Brisbane climatically it comes under the category known “humid subtropical climate”. The city is known to have hot, humid summers and cool, dry winters. Brisbane is the third-most popular destination for international tourists after Sydney and Melbourne and is easily accessible by road, rail. The city also has a very good internal road network and a variety of activities and attractions like museums, parks, theatres and good restaurants. All these together with the favourable climate, atmosphere and convenience of the city has made Brisbane a famous location many domestic settlements as well as other types of settlements. A large number of domestic constructions and new building developments take place in this city and its topography has resulted in a large number of landfills taking place before construction. Landfills are used mainly to level the slopes and create larger usable spaces on construction sites and as a result we see a large number of retaining walls being commonly used. Retaining walls are used mainly to avoid erosion and to hold back the soil material used in landfills and they also add strength and stability to constructions. They allow rain water to seep through without allowing the soil to get washed away and in this way avoid rain water flooding 8in to filled lands as well. A variety of materials can be used to build retaining walls like rocks, timber, masonry, sandstone, rubble and boulders. Boulder walls Brisbane is a good choice for retaining walls in this area as they are made of natural stones which are tightly packed together. They are a durable and economical type of retaining walls and are perfect to add a rustic charm. Boulder walls are a perfect choice for those who wish to cut costs while preserving the beauty and stability of their constructions...
