With an average local population of 7,500, Yamba town is situated in the northern New South Wales of Australia and at the mouth of the Clarence River. The people of Yuraygir, known as Yaegl are the traditional custodians of Yamba among other areas.
Yamba also boasts of eleven beaches that are famed for their sand, serenity and warm weather that combine to invite one to take a deep in the cool waters. These beaches are also home to other recreational activities such as surfing and fishing. The economy of this unique town is strongly based on fishing and tourism as well. It is indeed true that Yamba is in a class of its own.
