Armidale: A Hub Of Scenic Attractions

When one gets to talk about Armidale city, they cannot fail to mention the stunning attractions that help define it. As it comprises a distinctive blend of cultures, it always has pleasant twist of surprises all the time. Armidale, located midway between Sydney and Brisbane, is home to people of 53 nationalities.

It has been regarded as the pot of NSW Australia for its cosmopolitan nature. What brings these people here is as varied as their origins. Located on Faulkner Street, the Armidale City Library has a collection of local history which can be of great importance to that history-loving visitor. Also vital for history lovers is the Old Teacher’s College which holds the record of being the first of its kind to be established in New South Wales. Started in 1928, this institution is situated on an expansive heritage garden that allows visitors to have an excellent view of the city.
Another major feature is the New England National Park. Just 85 kilometres east of the city this World Heritage site boasts of picturesque cliffs, fast creeks and beautiful rainforests that keep campers and sightseers coming back for more. There is availability of camping facilities right deep in the bush and other Armidale accommodation establishments as well.

Lovers of waterfalls have not been left behind either. Ebor Falls provide another attraction loved by many. Situated within the Guy Fawkes National Park these amazing falls drop the water in a spectacular two-tier formation. Even in periods considered dry in the regions around, these falls continue to flow providing a breathtaking experience to visitors. Picnic tables, lookout platforms and pit toilets are available for the guests. If they need to camp, there are facilities set aside for that purpose.

Another spectacular feature that should not fail to be mentioned is the Cathedral Rock National Park. It is especially fulfilling for the lovers of huge boulders and rocks that appear sculpted. It also provides an eyeful to the bird lover owing to the numerous species found here. It is a fantastic location to the people who adore bushwalking and then having the opportunity to camp within it.
